Q.  Are your beads really handmade?
Most Certainly! I make each lampwork bead by hand using my Carlisle Mini CC dual fuel (Oxygen & propane) torch and rods of coloured glass. If you would like more in depth information, please link to The Beads subpage under the Home menu.
Q.  Do you paint the patterns on?
No.
All decoration is solid glass. With the exception of inclusions such as 24ct gold leaf foil, cubic zirconias and fine silver, the beads are made entirely of glass.
Q.  Why are the beads different, shouldn't they be the same?
Due to the nature of creation, lampwork beads can only be made one at a time, not mass produced. So no two beads will be identical, similar but never identical - that is the beauty of Artisan Lampwork Beads- they are unique and highly individual little works of art and you are guaranteed a One of a Kind piece.
Q.  Do you do Custom Orders?
Generally not. Your interpretation of what you want and MY interpretaion of what you want can be two entirely different things.

I find that Jewellery can be a very personal thing, and given that my pieces are one of a kind works of art, it would be incredibly difficult for me to create something from someone elses dreams and desires by their description alone.

However, that being said, I am more than happy to recreate pieces in different colours and styles from existing work to match that special outfit....

Custom orders do require a 50% non refundable deposit at the time of ordering.
Q.  How can I view your work?
Glass Candy attends Markets and/or Shows most weekends (dependant on seasons, winter is a little quieter) and details of these events can be found in the Markets & Shows link on the Menu Bar (left).

Retail outlets are listed under the 'Where to Buy' category.

I am also happy to do 'Home Showings'.
This allows a host to have a group of guests around for an afternoon or evening where they can not only enjoy each others company, but they can also browse over my pieces. Note that this is not a 'Party Plan' type arrangement with games and prizes, more an opportunity for guests to view an artists collection, learn about the techniques involved and perhaps make a purchase.
